You don’t have to move to Austin to enjoy water skiing and lakeside dining! Houston offers some great options for both. Here are a couple of locations for you to consider:

For Water Skiing:

    • Lake Conroe: Located about an hour north of Houston, Lake Conroe is a popular spot for water sports of all kinds, including water skiing. With over 21,000 acres of surface area, there’s plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the water. There are also several marinas on the lake that offer boat rentals and lessons.
    • Clear Lake: Located southeast of Houston, Clear Lake is another great option for water skiing. The lake is smaller than Lake Conroe, but it’s still plenty of space to enjoy a day on the water. There are also several marinas on Clear Lake that offer boat rentals and lessons.

For Lakeside Dining:

    • Lake Conroe: After a day of water skiing on Lake Conroe, you can head to one of the many lakeside restaurants for a delicious meal. Some of the popular options include the Lodge at Conroe, The Treehouse, and Walden Yacht Club.
    • Clear Lake: Clear Lake also has a variety of lakeside restaurants to choose from. Some of the popular options include Landry’s Seafood, The Boathouse Restaurant on Lake Clear, and Lee & Joe’s on the Water.

These are just a few of the many great options for water skiing and lakeside dining in and around Houston. With a little research, you’re sure to find the perfect spot for your next day trip or weekend getaway.

Here are some additional tips for planning your trip:

    • Consider the time of year: The best time to go water skiing in Houston is typically from spring to fall. The weather is usually warm and sunny, and the water is calm.
    • Book your boat rental in advance: Especially if you’re planning to go on a weekend, it’s a good idea to book your boat rental in advance. This will ensure that you have a boat available when you need it.
    • Be aware of the lake rules and regulations: Each lake has its own rules and regulations regarding water sports. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules before you head out on the water.
