The Woodlands has been one of the most acclaimed master planned communities in the country over its 42-year history. Roughly one-and-a-half times the size of Manhattan, its prime location, rich amenities, skilled workforce and highly educated population have made this 28,000-acre community desirable to both residents and businesses. Located north of Houston, The Woodlands is home to nearly 112,000 residents, over 2,100 employers and more than 63,000 employees and continues to grow.

Conceptualized and completed in a period of three years, Hughes Landing is a 66-acre mixed-use development with five Class A office buildings, 390 multifamily residences, Restaurant Row with seven full-service restaurants, a Whole Foods Market® anchored retail center and a 205-suite Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel. Outdoor amenities include water sport activities, a boardwalk, an entertainment pavilion, a dog park, a connection to over 200 miles of hike-and-bike trails and two parks. In 2016, Hughes Landing has received the Houston Business Journal’s coveted Landmark Award for mixed-use development.

Additional projects in The Woodlands are raising the bar for hospitality in the area, including the newly completed 302-room The Westin at The Woodlands hotel, part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center also completed a $75 million renovation and expansion that included upgraded meeting spaces, lobby and construction of 184 new luxury guest rooms, as well as a new 1,005-foot lazy river. The changes place it as one of the top premier resorts in the Southwest appealing to the meeting segment of the hospitality industry, while also attracting additional weekend guests.

The Howard Hughes Corporation is advancing development plans for several other strategic assets located within The Woodlands, and has identified future commercial development opportunities, including 2,055 acres of land for a future master planned community, located 13 miles north of The Woodlands.
