Houston Community College (HCC) is an open-admission, public institution of higher education offering a high-quality, affordable education for academic advancement, workforce training, career development and lifelong learning. One of the largest community colleges in the nation, HCC has served Harris and Fort Bend Counties for more than four decades. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Schools Commission on Colleges, we offer more than 250 associate degree and certificate programs. During the 2015-2016 school year, we served more than 114,000 unduplicated students through our 15 Centers of Excellence both on campus and online. We are proud to be the nation’s leader among all community colleges in providing associate degrees to minorities and number one in educating international students, with over 10 percent of our student population from outside the USA.

As the largest of six regional colleges within the Houston Community College System, HCC Southwest College is proud to offer an array of programs to suit the diverse needs of today’s students. The HCC Southwest region includes the West Loop Campus and Gulfton Center, both located near the Galleria area, the Brays Oaks Center located off serving the Brays Oaks area in Southwest Houston just inside Beltway 8, and the Stafford Campus and Missouri City Center which serves the surrounding Fort Bend communities.
With more than 75 foreign countries represented in our student body, our intensive English and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses help international students make a smooth transition into their studies.
HCC Southwest College is dedicated to bringing the highest quality education to the communities we serve. We provide two-year academic degrees, workforce certifications, Continuing Education (CE) classes, Adult Education (AE) classes, and high school dual-credit courses. HCC Southwest College is home to two Centers of Excellence dedicated to preparing students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence is housed at the newly built 57,424-square-foot Stafford Workforce Building, located at 13622 Stafford Road, and offers the following career-focused programs:
The West Loop Campus, located at 5601 West Loop South is home to the Digital and Information Technology Center of Excellence. This COE offers the following programs:
- iOS Coding and Design School (iCDS)
- Cybersecurity
- Computer Science Technology
- Cisco Network Engineering
- Digital Gaming and Simulation
- Geographic Information Science (GIS)
- Network Administration
- Windows/Linux Server Administration
Of the more than 38,800 students enrolled at HCC Southwest College, nearly a quarter of them are enrolled in workforce programs. Now, the college has two dedicated facilities for workforce training located in Fort Bend County.
The HCC Center for Entrepreneurship, Technology and Health Workforce in Missouri City offers:
- Academic Classes
- Business Administration
- Coding
- Computer Programing
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Phlebotomy
In addition to the EMT and Medical Assistant courses, the HCC Missouri City Center offers prerequisite courses for more than 20 professional health career programs at HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences. The center also offers associate degrees in arts, science, and applied science. These core academic courses are transferable to all four-year universities in Texas.
The brand new 69,000 square-foot building, located at 1600 Texas Parkway in Missouri City, houses state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, exhibition space, conference rooms and a student lounge. The Center provides a full range of student services including, on-site academic advisors, admissions assistance and guidance in determining financial aid eligibility. HCC’s goal is to create the ultimate student experience.
