Master-planned communities in Houston are booming, reflecting the city’s strong housing market. Over the past year, builders and developers have hit records in both home sales and home prices. This surge in demand has fueled the growth of master-planned communities throughout the Houston area, offering a diverse range of housing options and amenities to meet the needs of newcomers moving to Houston.

The Houston housing market continues to experience significant growth, with both home sales and prices reaching record highs in recent years. This robust market has spurred the development of numerous master-planned communities across the city. These communities offer a compelling alternative to traditional neighborhoods, providing newcomers with plenty of amenities, from resort-style pools and fitness centers to walking trails and community parks. Below is a list of the fastest-growing master-planned communities in Houston and the surrounding area (according to new home starts in 2016).

Lakes of Savannah

This master-planned community is located in Pearland, Texas with plenty of sparkling lakes, pocket parks, and a great swimming pool and clubhouse complex for newcomers moving to Houston. The area is served by Alvin ISD.  New home starts in 2016 came in at 204.

Ventana Lakes

Ventana Lakes is located in Katy, Texas, and is served by the highly acclaimed Katy ISD.  Close shopping destinations and easy access to the Grand Parkway.  New home starts in 2016 were 228.

Jasmine Heights

A quaint community in Katy, Texas located off of Fry Road by Katy Mills Mall.  Great Katy ISD schools, and easy access to I-10, Beltway 8, and the Grand Parkway.  2016 year-end reports 252 housing starts.

Harvest Green

This Fort Bend community located in Richmond, Texas is definitely unique.  With a love for the environment, they encourage residents to assist in growing gardens and crops.  Fort Bend ISD offers education to this community.  2016 home starts were at 257.

Towne Lake

A 300-acre community “connected by water”, Towne Lake has the largest private lake in the Houston area.  Newcomers moving to Houston can boat, ski, and enjoy the Boardwalk on Towne Lake. It is close by and can entertain the whole family. They are served by Cypress Fairbanks ISD. New Home starts in 2016 were 261.

Wildwood

A new community located in Tomball, Texas in Northwest Houston.  Prime location just off of SH 249, with exceptional Tomball ISD schools.  Varieties of floor plans are available.  New home starts in 2016 were 262.

Tamarron

Located in the Katy-Fulshear area, Tamarron at capacity will include over 4,000 homes.  Soon to come: amenity center with pools, splash pad, and fitness center.  Tamarron is part of the Lamar CISD.  New home starts in 2016 came in at 267.

Imperial Oaks

This community is located in Spring, Texas in the Northwest Houston area.  Served by Spring ISD, they are actually within walking distance from their own elementary school.  1,400 acres, surrounded by parks and nature preserves.  New home starts in 2016 were 271.

Bridgeland

A master-planned community located in Cypress, Texas.  This community offers 60 miles of trails, and 900 acres of lakes and is located within Cypress Fairbanks ISD.  New home starts in 2016 were 324.

Cross Creek Ranch

World-class amenities await you in Cross Creek Ranch.  Greenbelts, hiking and biking trails, parks, and more.  Served by both the Lamar CISD and Katy ISD.  New home starts in 2016 were 358.

Miramesa

Miramesa is part of the Canyon Gate family, located in Northwest Houston.  They have a multi-faceted recreation complex and have plans for an on-site school.  New home starts in 2016 were 361.

Sienna

This master-planned community is 10,000 acres with new homes located in Missouri City, Texas.  Resort-style amenities such as water parks and a fitness center are available to newcomers moving to Houston.  New home starts in 2016 were 364.

Aliana

Aliana is located in West Houston close to the Grand Parkway and is just a short commute from Highway 59 and Interstate 10.  Served by Fort Bend ISD. New home starts in 2016 came in at 384.

Woodforest

Located in Montgomery County, Woodforest is the fastest-growing community in the area.  Woodforest has a 27-hole golf course, parks, playgrounds, splash pads, and hiking and biking trails.  Serviced by both Conroe ISD and Montgomery ISD.  New home starts in 2016 were 386.

Riverstone

Located in Fort Bend County, this master-planned community offers luxurious homes, water features, and resort-style amenities for newcomers moving to Houston.  Located in Fort Bend ISD, home prices.  New home starts in 2016 were 494.
