More than 750 students during fall 2017 semesters chose University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus to make their dreams come true. The 40-acre wooded area on Pearland Parkway is the perfect campus setting for a new Science & Research Building currently under construction. The facility is slated to open in 2019.

Nationwide, healthcare jobs are expected to grow 26 to 35 percent by 2020, the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports, making healthcare the fastest growing segment.

Slated to open in 2019, the facility will offer RN-to-BSN and Licensed Professional Counselors programs. Plans include a satellite operation of UHCL’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. The 3-story, 69,539 square-feet building will feature a 100-seat tiered lecture hall, 3 60-plus seat classrooms, learning classrooms, computer teacher labs, biology labs, simulated hospital rooms, nurses’ and pharmacy stations, and general offices.

Alvin Community College offers classes at the University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland campus to reach Pearland-area students following an associate degree program. Undergraduate degrees include the following: Bachelor of Science in Accounting; Bachelor of Science in General Business; Bachelor of Science in Management; Bachelor of Science in Criminology; Bachelor of Applied Science in Informational Technology; Bachelor of Science in Psychology; and Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with EC-6 generalist certification.

Graduate degrees offered include Master of Arts in Behavioral Science-General; Master of Arts in Criminology; Master of Arts in Psychology; Mas-ter of Science in Counseling with School Counselor Certification; and Master of Science in Educational Management with Principal Certification or Special Education Certification.
