  • Sheldon Independent School District currently serves over 5,800 students on seven campuses. Established in 1952, Sheldon ISD proudly serves and represents a diverse “community of learners.”

The community of Sheldon has been supportive of the goals and actions of their district as evidenced by the approval $23.5 million in bonds in 1999 to renovate district campuses and $97 million in 2000 to address expected growth. In 2006, the voters approved a $98.7 million bond election to provide funding to build schools, purchase necessary land, and upgrade technology as well as renovate current facilities.

The goal of the Sheldon Independent School District is to provide the educational opportunities for students to become productive citizens and viable candidates in the global workforce. Sheldon students have excelled in various programs at the national level, including the Air Force JROTC and FFA programs, as well as at the state and local levels. The district recognizes that students must be properly prepared to be competitive in today’s workforce and offers certification programs in computer networking and repair for high school students, advanced placement and dual credit classes and exemplary fine arts, academic and athletic programs.
