Briar Forest is bounded by Buffalo Bayou to the north, Westheimer to the south, Gessner to the east and Dairy Ashford to the west. With easy access to I-10, the beltway, Westpark Tollway, Westheimer, Westchase District and the Energy Corridor, the area is very well situated. It includes the neighborhoods of Briargrove Park, Walnut Bend, Lakeside Place and Ashford Forest which are all located along Briar Forest Drive. Briargrove Park, situated between Gessner and the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8), is a closely knit, family-oriented neighborhood of approximately 1,500 well-maintained homes.

Walnut Bend is located west of Briargrove Park and the Sam Houston Tollway. Many homes are within walking distance of Walnut Bend Elementary and a popular community center with a swimming pool and tennis courts.

The popular Lakeside Place neighborhoods stretch from Wilcrest to Kirkwood, and to the north of Briar Forest. Developed in the 1970s, they are surrounded by peaceful, wooded greenbelts and the prestigious Lakeside Country Club.

From Kirkwood to Dairy Ashford are the “Ashford” subdivisions: Ashford Forest, Ashford Village and Ashford Hills. They were developed from the 1960s and today are established, community-oriented neighborhoods.
