New Caney Independent School District is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Houston in East Montgomery County serving residents in the Porter, New Caney, and Kingwood communities. The District houses more than 15,000 students in 10 elementary schools PreK-5, four middle schools grades 6-8, two comprehensive high schools, one early college high school, and one alternative education center grades 1-12.
New Caney ISD is a Texas Fast-Growth School District and among the fastest growing districts in the greater Houston area. The district has grown by more than 35% in the last five years with projected consistent growth for the next 10 years. Montgomery County is ranked as the 6th fastest growing county in Texas with its population more than doubling in the last twenty years.
