With builders selling homes at a brisk pace this year, Woodforest has moved up on a list of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities.

The Johnson Development community rose five spots on the Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) mid-year report of the country’s 50 best-selling communities, moving up from No. 41 in 2017 to No. 38 based on home sales through the first half of 2018. Woodforest’s 200 sales represent a 9 percent increase over the previous year.

“Sales in Woodforest have grown steadily over the past nine years,” said Virgil Yoakum, senior vice president for Johnson and general manager for Woodforest. “Buyers want to interact with nature while having easy access to employment centers. They want a small-town atmosphere, but don’t want to sacrifice amenities. Woodforest provides all of that, accounting for our popularity.”

According to the RCLCO report, the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land area has seen the most growth this year with Montgomery County experiencing a significant rise in sales.

With its location between The Woodlands and Lake Conroe — and just seven miles west of Interstate 45  —  Woodforest offers proximity to a variety of options for boating, swimming and hiking as well as premier shopping, dining and entertainment.

The community itself occupies a heavily forested area centered on the Woodforest Golf Club. Additional amenities include a 16-acre tennis and aquatics center, the recently opened Stampede Sportsplex and a full-time lifestyle director.

Woodforest is one of six Johnson communities on the list, making the company the top-selling developer in the nation. Sienna Plantation in Missouri City ranked No. 15, Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear placed at No. 25, Harmony in Spring was No. 30 and Riverstone in Sugar Land landed the No. 41 spot. In addition, Viridian, located in Arlington, Tex., had the second highest sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and ranked No. 26 in the nation.

Homes in Woodforest are priced from the $180,000s. For more information, visit www.woodforesttx.com
