  • Huffman ISD serves approximately 3,300 students and continues to be a model for others across the State. Through the efforts of our staff, our students flourish in academics, the fine arts, and athletics. Our Falcons excel from our pre-K program to the time they graduate. Through our programs we provide character education and promote pride in being a part of our school community. Importantly, our district succeeds because of the high standards for achievement in our community. There is no place that supports their public schools like Huffman. It is a great place to raise a family.

Huffman is a unique community comprised largely of residential subdivisions, scattered farms, apartments, and small businesses. The area is showing steady medium growth. The main subdivisions include; The Commons of Lake Houston, Fairway Crossing, Lochshire, Lakewood Heights, Spanish Cove, Saddle Creek Farms, and Indian Shores. Most residents commute to Houston, Humble, Baytown, and surrounding communities for employment.

Our district enrollment is approximately 3,300 students. We have five campuses; Ben Bowen Early Childhood Center – PreK-1st grade, Copeland Elementary School – grades 2-3, Huffman Intermediate School – grades 4-5, Huffman Middle School – grades 6-8, and Hargrave High School – grades 9-12.

All five campuses have met the academic standards established by the Texas Education Agency in 2013. Huffman ISD prides itself on instilling strong character values in our students through academic instruction and extra-curricular participation. We strive to have our students prepared to contribute to society by providing a high standard of instruction and offering a variety of learning opportunities that create well-rounded students while meeting the changing needs of the 21st  Century Learner.

Beginning in 2014 we will participate in District 10AAAA for football and in District 23AAAA for all other sports and academic competitions. Our district enjoys a high level of extra-curricular participation from our students. We have 14 athletic teams and more than 20 clubs and organizations that give our students opportunities to represent our district, while developing skills such as commitment, teamwork, and leadership that will serve them well beyond their time at Huffman ISD.

Our most recent construction included opening a new athletic complex, renovations at the elementary campuses including new science labs, and a new state-of-the art technology infrastructure, which we are continually updating and expanding.

As part of our commitment to student success both in the classroom and in today’s interconnected world, each of Huffman ISD’s campuses features a robust technology environment that continues to be updated and expanded. Students benefit daily from schools blanketed in wireless coverage, high-speed internet access, interactive whiteboards, mobile devices, and a district-wide 2:1 student-to-computer ratio.

It’s really great to be a Falcon!

The Mission of Huffman ISD is to empower students to be responsible, life-long learners who are prepared to succeed in personal and professional life.
