Johnson Development is showcasing an array of “drool-worthy” homes, inspiring décor and special events in 14 communities — including three in South Montgomery County — for Houston’s largest home tour.

The April Drools Home Tour will feature more than 170 mouthwatering model homes and nearly 500 jaw-dropping available homes in Johnson communities across the Houston area. Homes will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays throughout the month. Admission is free.

“Several of our 14 Houston-area communities are counted among the nation’s top-selling,”said Doug Goff, President and Chief Operating Officer of Johnson Development. “One of them, Woodforest, is located right here in South Montgomery Country. We’re proud to showcase our amazing builders and outstanding amenities and look forward to welcoming the public to the types of resident-only events our lifestyle directors plan regularly.”

Woodforest, a 3,000-acre development seven miles west of Interstate 45, is hosting two events April 21. The public is invited to “Rock the Block” with live bands, games, grill goodies and more at Fox Trail Park from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Beer and margaritas will be available. Shuttles will take visitors to tour the models. Afterward, they will have an opportunity to see how the active 55+ set live, when Bonterra at Woodforest deals them in on a “Fire & Dice” casino night from 5-7 p.m. at the Bonterra Clubhouse, 300 Bonterra Boulevard. Eventgoers can register to win a trip to New York City when visiting the community’s 11 model homes. Visit for details.

Harmony, a 1,000-acre community in north Houston just five miles east of Interstate 45 near the ExxonMobil campus, is bringing back its Barefoot Bands in the Park concert April 14. The free event will feature performances by headliner Hannah Kay and the Louis Adams Band. Fifteen model homes will be open for touring. See for more information.
