Advancing Health in Houston – Memorial Hermann has created Houston’s largest, full-service, integrated health system focused on advancing the health of the community.

For the system’s 6,000 affiliated physicians and 26,000 employees, it means exercising uncompromising commitment to deliver the best health care possible by harnessing leading-edge technology and using the safest methods. For patients, it means having the best tools to prevent health problems as well as the best chance to regain their health following an illness or injury. It’s no wonder Memorial Hermann is the only Houston health system to receive both the National Quality Forum’s National Quality Healthcare Award in 2009 and the 2012 John M. Eisenberg Award for Patient Safety and Quality from The Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum, the nation’s guardians of health and safety.

Memorial Hermann – Sugar Land

Proudly caring for the residents of Sugar Land and Fort Bend County since 2006, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is the first Houston-area hospital to earn the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest Presidential honor for performance excellence. To meet the growing healthcare needs of Fort Bend County, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land recently opened a new 155,000-square-foot patient tower, capping off a $93 million campus expansion and bringing the total bed count to 147. Conveniently located at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Grand Parkway, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land offers advanced equipment and state-of-the-art technology to address any healthcare need, from birthing services and emergency pediatrics to sports medicine and orthopedics, including the IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute.

Area residents can now stay close to home for increasingly complex healthcare issues and receive high-quality care delivered by a highly skilled staff and affiliated physicians spanning more than 65 specialties.

Beyond the expanded ICU and new adult intermediate care unit, there is state-of-the-art equipment, including new diagnostic monitoring systems, to enhance patient care. The expanded Emergency Center further enhances the hospital’s outstanding heart attack care for patients arriving with chest pain. A nationally accredited Chest Pain Center, the hospital has affiliated heart specialists available 24/7 to perform balloon coronary (angioplasty) in its cardiac catheterization lab. Growing families will appreciate the expanded labor and delivery rooms, an expanded nursery and neonatal ICU, more beds for pediatric patients and space for future expansion. In addition, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land is Fort Bend County’s only pediatric ER designed and staffed to care specifically for children. The hospital’s growing group of affiliated physicians with pediatric subspecialty training in gastroenterology, neurology, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose & throat), pulmonology, urology and sleep medicine ensures children can receive advanced specialty care close to home.
